Last Friday Manchester-area activists armed with cameras, two-way radios and police scanners joined us and patrolled the streets in four cars and MARV. A couple days earlier we had made public our “LOT Watches the Watchmen” press release. Our mission – accountability, a trait that seemingly absent among the ranks of those working for the Manchester police department.
Case in point: two weeks before the patrol, Michael Delaney, the top law enforcement official in New Hampshire, concluded that those involved in the brutal beating of a man at a local watering hole a year prior wouldn’t face criminal charges because they wear badges.
