We Had to Have a Talk with MARV

LAWRENCE, KS – Doing a project like Liberty On Tour has its ups and downs. We get to meet and chillax with awesome people and see the land (aka “country”) while advocating voluntaryism through outreach, meetups and videos but it is a lot of work. It’s only natural to have off-days, but lately MARV – 1/3 of LOT’s crew – has been acting up a bit. For example:

  • Last Thursday after shooting content for a couple of stories in St. Louis MARV died in an intersection. The next day we were back on the road with a new crank shaft sensor and $550 less in our budget. And at their request, we left the folks at Tom’s Truck Repair with some literature from LOT and our advertisers.

Uncle Sam Appreciates You!

LAWRENCE, KS –  Uncle Sam recently took a stroll through Philadelphia where his master plan first took shape.  He decided to check out some of the sites and interact with the folks in the area.  Though he’s not a personable fellow and was only worried about people paying his tax, which he claims to appreciate.  The question is do you appreciate him having his hand in your pocket?

MARV’s Breakdown

ST LOUIS, MO –  Yesterday while making our way to the Show Me Institute – where Pete and I will be on a panel about filming police tonight at 6pm – MARV (the RV) broke down at an intersection.  Though it was a tense moment at first, with the even rush hour about to kick off, we did manage to push MARV to the side – thanks to three folks who kindly helped Pete push as I steered (Pete did want me to note that the RV was on a slight incline).

Hitting the Streets in the City of Brotherly Love

INDIANAPOLIS, IN – Last Saturday our bud Mandrik (of George’s Famous Baklava fame) joined us to do some outreach on Philly’s busy South Street. While he distributed flyers that had Liberty Radio Network on one side and FreeKeene.com on the other side Adam and I handed-out The World’s Smallest Political Quiz from the Advocates for Self-Government.

We had a lot of great conversations and overall people – with the exception of some of those wearing badges – were really receptive.

Unmasked Knowledge

ST. LOUIS, MO – I’ve heard Tom Palmer say that libertarians (to which I’d expand to anarchists/voluntaryists) have the right ideas but we just need to become better marketers of those ideas. A few months back I watched a YouTube video about time management. Obviously the subject interested me, otherwise I wouldn’t be watching it, but admittedly it was a bit dry. So what kept me watching for almost 10 minutes? The person communicating his tips wore different animal masks while speaking. So, just when I’d be about to click away I’d wait to see what his next mask would be. And I’d continue to listen and learn.
