Medical Marijuana Patients to Fight Felony Charges in AZ

SAN DIEGO, CA –  Last week we covered a fundraiser for medical marijuana victims put on by the Human Solution – a non profit organization that helps such victims.  Though the fundraiser was for another victim (video to produced later) of the drug war, we did meet Ken Andersen and Jodie Carlier.  Who had been arrested in Arizona for possession of ‘narcotics’ that were prescribed to them via a doctor.

LOT visits Hopeville in St Louis

DENVER, CO – While in St Louis we had the chance to visit Hopeville, a community of folks living in tents and without government intervention – for the most part.  Reality was kind enough to show us around the community that has a communal fire pit, kitchen and several grills for cooking.

People who come to Hopeville stake out a piece of property and interact with those around them voluntarily.  There are no rules or constitutions to abide though there is a social norm that is understood by most.  They live without official rules but do have a Mayor and security force to handle issues.  Though these appointments aren’t paid and are commonly held by women, which isn’t the case for the government we all know, they are still effective in handling problems.

Billion Dollar Company Taps Individual Charity

BOULDER, CO – Most of us know that if you want a fast, healthy meal for a reasonable price you can head to Panera, but what about getting the same meal for a suggested price?

That’s the business model at one of their locations in St. Louis and it seems to be working quite well. According to one employee we spoke with, 85-90% of customers give at or above the suggested price to pay it forward. Company higher-ups have commented that they plan to open two other locations in other cities in the coming months.
