Basket Brigade Exemplifies Civil Society

But who will take care of the poor [in the absence of government]?!

Such questions are often posted by those who haven’t through through a reality without a top-down, centralized bureaucracy that can only give to some what it takes from others. I don’t berate those who have such a knee-jerk reaction when they hear someone advocate for a world without institutions based on violence, after all, most people are exposed only to the religion of the State in gun-run schools and via the lamestream media. But think about it for a moment – how frugal or cost-effective would your expenditures be if you had unlimited access to everyone’s money (or could just print money out of thin air)? Not very. Or how likely would you be to learn from bad purchases? Not very.

Liberty Caravan Plans and Goals

Tomorrow the Liberty Caravan leaves for New Hampshire.

On the eve of the departure of my Liberty Caravan for freedom in New Hampshire, here is the piece I promised about the goals and plans of the caravan. Pete Eyre touched on these  a few days ago, but I wanted to elaborate a little.

Goals -
“Goals of the Liberty Caravan: Help organize and give motivation to those desiring to move to NH as soon as possible, have fun while traveling, take time to sightsee (personally I will probably not be driving across the country again for a few years so this will be my last chance to see places esp in the middle of the country), organize meetups with other people interested or curious about the Free State Project, get more media attention to the FSP.” – from www.libertycaravan.org/info.

Free Bradley Manning

Bradley Manning Billboard Erected in Kansas City

More individuals in Kansas City will now be informed about Bradley Manning‘s situation thanks to a new billboard in town. The cost was crowd-sourced among his supporters and others are already talking about replicating the outreach elsewhere.

We often communicate that when there is no victim there is no crime – that sentiment could not be more true than in Manning’s unjust kidnapping, torture and caging. Watchmen and V for Vendetta author Alan Moore nailed it when he said:

Why I am moving to New Hampshire

Why I am moving to New Hampshire

Hello, everyone. My name is Bryce Nielsen. You probably saw the piece Pete Eyre just wrote about me and my plans for a Liberty Caravan. Thank you, Pete. I will be posting on here periodically for the duration of the caravan.

I wanted to take the time and introduce myself a little and say a few things about why I am moving. Next post will be about my caravan.

First of all, I really didn’t have all that far to go to get to the ideas of liberty. I usually term myself as a libertarian, rather than as a Voluntaryist, perhaps I’ll go into the reasons in a future post.
