Tomorrow the Liberty Caravan leaves for New Hampshire.
On the eve of the departure of my Liberty Caravan for freedom in New Hampshire, here is the piece I promised about the goals and plans of the caravan. Pete Eyre touched on these a few days ago, but I wanted to elaborate a little.
Goals -
“Goals of the Liberty Caravan: Help organize and give motivation to those desiring to move to NH as soon as possible, have fun while traveling, take time to sightsee (personally I will probably not be driving across the country again for a few years so this will be my last chance to see places esp in the middle of the country), organize meetups with other people interested or curious about the Free State Project, get more media attention to the FSP.” – from www.libertycaravan.org/info.
Ok, I have been planning this caravan for quite awhile. I read about and was very interested in the original caravan, in March 2010, and was impressed by the idea. Maybe it’s because I like planning routes on maps. I always have, but I also liked the idea of having a group moving together, and taking their time so as to have time to speak to people along the way.
Anyway, shortly after the first Liberty Caravan, I signed up for the Next 1000 pledge, and decided to move in September 2011, in order to fulfill my part of the pledge. I always felt that I would keep my part even if we didn’t get to the 1000Â signers, which we didn’t even come close to.
I organized this follow-up Caravan, which I called the Next 1000 Liberty Caravan, or Liberty Caravan 2 1/2 because it is 1 1/2 years after the first caravan, hoping to have other members of the Next 1000 pledge sign up to join the caravan. I have done advertising, posted on liberty forums, and sent messages to anyone who appeared to be moving about the same time. Unfortunately, no one has signed up to travel with me for their move. Perhaps my timing and the duration of the route I chose were not desirable to other new movers, or perhaps I did not do enough promotion. Anyway, when it became apparent that I would be the only person moving to NH as part of the Caravan, I decided to switch my focus to the other goals of the caravan.
I am focusing on having meetups along the way. The meetups were always a big part of my plans for the Caravan, and holding and documenting the meetups will be an excellent way to promote the Free State Project along the way. I am planning to speak to people at every stop of the route, despite not being a really good speaker. This will be a growing experience for me. I plan to talk to people every day and also have some items to give away along my route which promotes the Free State Project. I also plan to give out literature about the FSP along the way, and I also plan to wear clothing which advertises the ideas of liberty.
So even if you only get me in the caravan, if you are along my route the Caravan will be coming by. Check out my route and schedule on my website: www.libertycaravan.org/route-and-schedule. I will be holding meetups in Denver, Omaha, Des Moines, Chicago, Cleveland, Buffalo, Rochester, Albany, and in New Hampshire – Keene, Manchester, and Portsmouth. The times and dates are on my Meetup page at www.libertycaravan.org/meetup.
If you are along my route and want to request a meetup at a city not in my list, feel free to use my Contact page to reach me: www.libertycaravan.org/contact. I will probably not do meetups in really small places, or somewhere that is really close to an existing meetup, but if they are fairly sizable and my time is not already stretched full in that area, I can do that.
I would encourage anyone who is reading this and wants to help the FSP in their area, if I am coming through your area please come to the meetup there. Also, I need to know if people are coming, so please RSVP on Facebook or contact me some other way if you are not on facebook. I can also be reached on some liberty forums. I am 10stateswithnh on the Free State Project forum, and my profile name is brycen on 3 other forums: nhfree/nhunderground, freekeene, and on nhliberty.
Tomorrow I start my daily accounts of my travels and outreach opportunities.
I hope to see many of you along the way or in New Hampshire. Liberty in our Lifetime!

Safe travels!
Thanks, Seth!
