Bradley Manning Billboard Erected in Kansas City

More individuals in Kansas City will now be informed about Bradley Manning‘s situation thanks to a new billboard in town. The cost was crowd-sourced among his supporters and others are already talking about replicating the outreach elsewhere.

We often communicate that when there is no victim there is no crime – that sentiment could not be more true than in Manning’s unjust kidnapping, torture and caging. Watchmen and V for Vendetta author Alan Moore nailed it when he said:

When the persecution of an individual who has exposed an evil is pursued so ruthlessly and yet the evil itself is studiedly ignored, all of us know that there is something very wrong with the way that our society is conducting itself. And if we do not protest in the strongest terms about what is being done in our name, then we become complicit. . .

There is no third option, Bradley Manning and others like him everywhere are vital to our continued moral health and well-being as a people, and unless we offer them our full support in their often dire and isolated circumstances, it is we, as a people, who will end up the losers.

The Bradley Manning Support Network lists a number of ways you can help inform others about Manning’s situation.
My idea: have the Anonymous folks uncover and disseminate the names, roles, contact info of all those involved in Manning’s treatment, from Iraq, where he was kidnapped in May of 2010, to Leavenwowrth where he’s currently caged. Those responsible have consciousness and the ability to reason. It’d be great to send them some strike-the-root oriented literature on the situation. If they fail to see that their actions were in the wrong and that Bradley shouldn’t be caged, then at least those in their sphere could disassociate.
