Are you a voluntaryist? Carl Watner, editor of the The Voluntaryist and one of my favorite books I Must Speak Out: The Best of the Voluntaryist (.pdf, Google Books, Amazon, Voluntaryist.com) wants to hear how you came to voluntaryism.
This idea came thanks to a current project Carl is now doing with Debbie “The Suburban Voluntaryist” Harbeson – she’s reading all 30-years of The Voluntaryist newsletter and blogging her reactions.
I really respect Carl – his clear, hardcore prose were instrumental for me in reaching the views I now advocate. And Debbie is equally badass. We first crossed paths back in 2009 when on the road with The Motorhome Diaries
Below is the email I received from Carl’s listserve. If you’re at all interested I encourage you to submit your story. We each have unique journeys – it’ll be interesting to learn more about each other as well as show others new to the ideas of liberty the diversity of our community. The more individuals are introduced to these ideas the freer we all become.
Hi Voluntaryists,Debbie Harbeson of www.debbieandcarlblogspot.com has been reading all the back issues of The Voluntaryist. Her story of how she became a libertarian and then voluntaryist will be appearing in the next issue (No. 150).I recently wrote the story of “my own early years,” titled “Something to Do with the Search for Truth,” about how I became a libertarian. When I mentioned this to Debbie, she suggested that she post a link soliciting short pieces on how people became tuned into voluntaryism. The link where she posted this is below,If we can get some interesting stories, of which I hope there will be many, we will post them online and/or publish them as a monograph.Let us know: what’s your story. Please submit to voluntaryist@windstream.net.SincerelyCarl WatnerBox 275Gramling SC 29348[If you wish to unsubcribe from this email group., please reply with Unsubscribe in the subject line.]
