We Could All Learn a Thing or Two From Bob Constantine

On September 4th, 2009 men with guns swarmed Bob Constantine’s remote property and house in Grafton, NH. They left with Bob in one of their cars, stole some of his property and since then, Bob has been subjected to constant harassment by their friends.

The past three days (day one and day two) Bob was ordered to appear in front of a man in a robe in North Haverhill to essentially do damage control – he was threatened with seven years in a cage for growing a plant strangers once upon a time deemed “illegal.” Bob hurt no one, yet Melissa Pierce (603.787.6968) demanded that 12 others known as the “jury” (also forced to be present) to side with her and put Bob away.

As David McGraw noted: ‎”I do not see Bob as on trial as he is an innocently peaceful neighbor. The jury is on trial”

Today, the 12 announced that they didn’t agree with Pierce’s accusation that Bob manufactured over an ounce of marijuana, but they did say that Bob was “guilty” of possessing it (a lesser “crime” Bob asked to be included in the instructions given by the man in the black robe to the 12).

What that means for Bob:

• one year sentence with all but 60 days suspended (Bob is ordered to appear on April 22nd)
• $1,000 fine (Chipin to help Bob cover the fine)
• two-year probation

The theft of his money and his pending caging is the responsibility of Pierce, the man in the black robe, the 12 jurors, the men with guns who entered his property and the neighbor who snitched.

At the end of the day – Bob stood for what is right and he should be lauded accordingly. He owns his body, his actions had no victim and he spoke the truth. I’m sure his actions will inspire many others to do the same, which will soon, lead to a day when no one has to fear threats of fines or cages for engaging in non-violent actions.
