KINGMAN, AZ – I wanted to take a moment to again thank everyone for helping me get released from the Las Vegas Detention Center, without any charges. Also, I wanted to talk about Qik which along with the call flood helped make this a success story.
First the thanks, there are so many that that took part that it’s impossible for me to mention everyone. I hope that everyone knows I appreciate it more than you realize and the post, pics and more that I’ve seen are truly touching. I’d like to thank Ian Freeman of Free Talk Live, Smeg McLain of Liberty Flair.com, Kelly Patterson, Josh Lilly and Nicole Webb of Anarchy Cafe (Las Vegas) and of course all the great contributor’s at CopBlock.org (that’s you Andrew, Jenn and Brett) for the efforts you made toward my release.
Oh and I can’t forget Pete Eyre, who did a fantastic job getting info, pics, phone numbers and videos out to the public. I knew shortly after meeting Pete last year that we’d be friends for the rest of our lives and this only reaffirms that.
So how or why were the charges against me dropped? I’m not sure there is one answer to this, unless some agent of the state is willing to come forward stating they gave the ‘order’ to release me. What this does prove is that with video evidence and a strong public push to local officials we can rattle the system to the point that they’ll release the wrongfully arrested from their grasp.
There was a clear increase of action – those sharing the story or calling public officials in Vegas – and I feel the Qik video being accessible immediately had alot to do with that. Qik is a free application for smart phone owners that allows you to upload video directly to the internet from your phone and is a must have for any liberty activists. In past arrests our video footage has been destroyed or the actual cameras themselves have been stolen (confiscated). Without video proof of what happened some folks might be reluctant to assist and more likely to pick apart your story for holes. This time around people were able to see the conversation (and actions of me and the officers) leading up to my arrest and judge the situation for themselves, which meant less time spent debating what might have happened and more time in the ‘how to help’ mode.
Once people were made aware of what had happened they turned to the power of the web. Posting the story/video, via their social networks and blogs, all over the web. They made ‘Free Adam’ pics, found phone numbers for the police, jailers, district attorney and the judge himself. They asked others to place phone calls on my and their behalf’s and insisted on getting answers. This is something the Liberty movement has been great at for some time but with the addition of programs like Qik it can be a deadly tool against the state.
What have I learned from this? Get the video out and get it out quick (or via Qik). It takes all the second guessing out of the equation and allows people to focus on your release. Though encouraging your friends and families to call doesn’t hurt either. The more calls the better.

Get a life Adam!! All u did in Vegas was make two videos. The rest of the time u were spending LOTS money getting drunk and getting lap dances. Ur treating ur tour like a paid college vacation

No charges, huh? Well, great! Now, go back and get ‘em for assault, home invasion, wrongful arrest, kidnapping, false imprisonment… oh, wait, wrong planet.
Just a tip for Qik on Android. Not long ago they updated Qik which now when you start it you have a menu before you get to the video camera to be able to record. It makes it take a bit longer to start recording video if it is needed in a pinch. I was playing with my android device and I have a homescreen app called Launcher Pro. I found a way to put a shortcut on your homescreen to skip that intro screen in Qik.
First get launcher pro from the market(This will now act as your homescreen…it is better than the stock one anyway)
Long press the screen to add a shortcut
Tap the Shortcuts Menu
Tap Activities
Scroll down to Qik and tap it to expand the menu
Click the first on, com.qik.android.VideoCamera
It won’t start recording right away, but it does remove one extra screen for you.
